Starfield is Skyrim in space from famed game designer Todd Howard and producer Ashley Cheng. It's a massive first-person role-playing game set in an open universe where you can travel in your own spaceship.
Starfield takes place in the distant future and you will become part of an organization called Constellation, which is engaged in research activities. You can create your own unique character with your own unique story, which will influence the subsequent plot of the game.
What platforms is the game coming out on and when?
Starfield is exclusive to the Microsoft ecosystem and is only available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The final release date was announced in a recent trailer - September 6, 2023.
The game will not be released on Sony consoles. Todd Howard, after the merger between Bethesda Game Studios and Microsoft, stated that it "will help create a better product" because it does not have to be torn between platforms.
The engine of the project is Creation Engine 2, which is based on the engine of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. Bethesda improved old developments and, in part, large delays in the release of new games are associated with the development of a new engine.
