Fortnite will no longer work on older versions of the Windows operating system after the next update.
Ahead of the launch of the second season of the fourth chapter, which will take place today, Epic Games issued a warning to players, reminding that the popular battle royale will no longer work on Windows 7 and Windows 8 .
Starting with the new season, users will need to upgrade to Windows 10 or higher to continue playing Fortnite on PC in officially supported mode, according to the company.
However, Epic also offered a workaround, confirming that Windows 7 and Windows 8 users will still be able to run Fortnite through NVIDIA's GeForce NOW cloud service .
The theme of the new season of Fortnite will be Japanese cyberpunk, and one of the innovations will be a first-person mode. A new Star Wars collaboration and an Attack on Titan crossover is also expected, along with the already traditional map changes, new items, vehicles, and the like.
